Frederick Subaru has opened at 1417 W. Patrick St.

The 5,000-square-foot business will house a showroom and sales center for Subaru, said Rob Skora, general sales manager of Frederick Motor Co., which owns the franchise.

“Service will still be done at the main garage,” Skora said.

The main garage, at 1 Waverley Drive, includes the Ford showroom and service for both makes. The dealership used the main showroom for Fords and Subarus since acquiring the franchise in 1990.

The building is a culmination of planning and development among the dealership, the city and Subaru America.

Skora said Subaru sales have doubled since 2011 and more room was needed to accommodate customers. No additional sales personnel were hired.
