The City of Frederick has opened the application portal for the Back In Business Conditional Microgrant for a third round — with expanded criteria to include eligible local businesses that opened during the pandemic.
The program criteria of Round 3 removes the previous requirement that applying businesses be established prior to July 2019. Any business impacted by COVID-19 that meets all other eligibility requirements and was formally established prior to grant application will now be considered. Newer business applicants will be required to submit supporting documentation substantiating loss due to COVID-19.
Applicants that met the criteria of Round I or Round II but missed previous application deadlines are also encouraged to apply during this round.
The Round Three application window will remain open until 5:00PM on Tuesday, November 10, 2020.

Outdoor dining in Frederick County could extend beyond the end
of October, thanks in part to a grant made available by the Frederick County’s
Office of Economic Development, which will allow restaurants to
purchase patio heaters.
Applications for the “Fired Up” grant program are now open and
will close on Oct. 9 at 10 a.m. Restaurants with less than 800 square
feet of space can apply for a $2,700 grant, while restaurants with more
than 800 square feet can apply for a $5,400 grant. The money can be
used to purchase patio heaters and the fuel needed to heat them.
